Lisi Ashbridge from The Corner Gallery (Unit 5, Tithebarn Workshops) is taking part in an upcoming exhibition…
Making a Mark is an exhibition celebrating craftsmanship. At the Private View on Saturday 13 May (11 – 5) the Lettering and Commemorative Arts Trust in Snape will have a display and letter carvers Ayako Furuno, Lisi Ashbridge and Thomas Sargeant will demonstrate their craft. The exhibition will be opened at 12 by Sarah Harrison, CEO of the Lettering Arts Trust. Do come – and learn more about the ancient skill of inscribing beautiful letters on stone and slate, and its relevance today.
The title of the exhibition embraces all the artists who show their fine work at The Garden Gallery. If you have not received an invitation and would like one please get in touch. The exhibition will run from 13 May – 8 July on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 11 – 5, or by arrangement.
As part of the new look Corner Gallery, Felix and Jackie would like to invite you to a bit of a do down at the Tithebarn Workshops on Sunday 14th May from 6pm – 9pm.
Acoustic Guitar Innovations manufacture their beautiful guitars and ukuleles in a low impact way from ethically sourced materials. They are all hand made with love by Felix…
We hope to see as many people as possible for what will be a splendid evening!
Wishing all the customers of the Tithebarn Workshops a very Happy Easter from everyone here.
Have a lovely weekend and see you all soon.
SerenArts Gallery have just taken delivery of a fabulous new selection of new season linen clothing to add to their existing ranges…
A great collection of new designs and colours are available from their shop now, so pop down to the Tithebarn Workshops soon while stocks last!
The sun is out, the shops all have their new stock in, the blossom is just making an appearance, the flowers are in bloom, the Tearooms have got all their tables out and we’re ready for the new season at the Tithebarn Workshops.
We look forward to seeing our regular clientele as well as welcoming many new customers this year.
For those who have followed the Tithebarn Workshops blog over the years you’ll remember our resident ducks, George and Mildred, who come to visit at this time of year…
Last year they failed to put in an appearance, but they’re back today and enjoying a hearty breakfast of bird seed all washed down with water from the dog bowls! Surely this is a sign that summer is well on its way?!
We wanted to bring your attention to an event occurring later this month…
The Tithebarn Workshops are taking part in the Festival which we hope will bring people to Bradford on Avon and showcase the work of the artists at the Workshops and the town.
You can find out more details about what’s happening by visiting the organisers Facebook page
We hope to see you all down here at some point over the weekend.
While I was sunning myself in Gran Canaria storm Doris was doing her worst in the garden at the Tithebarn Workshops. Luckily it was only one of the larger branches of our glorious cherry trees and it didn’t fall towards the galleries, so things could have been a lot worse…
On the plus side, all the spring flowers are now coming into bloom and the garden is starting to look it’s best again.
We hope to see you all down here soon.
Well, to say we were a little disappointed would be an understatement. After 4 and a half hours filming for Celebrity Carry on Barging, all we got was a 30 second scene of 3 celebrities chomping on some of Mel’s scones (extremely good as they are), whilst discussing how best to wash Nigel Havers smalls!! You could just see the ghostly figure of Terry through the tearoom window and then they were off again along the canal. Ah well, they do say any advertising is good advertising!
We’ll have to work on our acting skills a bit more if we’re to get the Tithebarn Workshops a starring role in the next bit of filming down here I guess!
Well it’s finally being aired and we’ve been trawling around trying to find a decent review for the new Channel 5 series Celebrity Carry on Barging…. without much success I’m afraid! Shown at 8pm on Friday nights the show features the above celebs taking on the K & A canal and, with any luck, visiting us here at the Tithebarn Workshops for a bit of retail therapy. There is, of course, a chance we may end up on the cutting room floor, but we’ll see what happens next week!
Well… we don’t care what the reviews say… we had a great day with them all down here and found them to be absolutely charming people. Fingers crossed that we make the cut and good luck with the rest of the show!
