Well, we had a whole raft of wood related puns lined up for why the kids park was closed behind us here at the Tithebarn Workshops. And now, this morning, a large Council truck load of wood chips arrived to sort the problem out!
Apparently, there was not enough coverage of bark should anyone fall off the swings etc. As you can imagine there’s been quite a bit of… ‘It wasn’t like that it my day’ being muttered around here!
Anyway, things are all good again and we won’t be losing any business now due to the closure… see you soon.
We would just like to bring your attention to this weekend’s Summer Floating Market taking place on the Kennet & Avon Canal near us here at the Tithebarn Workshops, on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th July…
Now in its second year the Kennet and Avon Canal Floating Market is an event not to be missed. Boats and stalls selling goods made aboard from handicrafts to food to brass and woodwork. Entertainment from the canal community’s wide range of talented musicians and bands. Facepainting and workshops in juggling, ropework and shantys. Learn to play the spoons! Visit the Floating Salon for a pamper.
The market is open from 10am to 6pm both days and we hope to see everybody down in the area for a great time.
The perfect day for travelling in style…
Bradford has been entered into this years Preece Cup category of the RHS South West in Bloom competition. The Town put on this beautiful carriage to show judge Tony Moore and Mayor David Garwood around the area and spent time down at the Tithebarn Workshops this morning as part of the tour.
Surely with a welcome like this we stand a good chance of winning the competition?!
A big thank you to everyone who joined us down at the Bradford on Avon Street Market in Westbury Gardens yesterday…
A bit of folk for the Street Market folks!

The weather helped to turn this into a very successful day for the Tithebarn Workshops and we got to meet plenty of existing and prospective customers. We managed to dish out over 2 dozen of Mel’s delicious scones, which went down extremely well!
We were even right next to the band that struck up in the afternoon, adding to the great atmosphere in the gardens.
We do hope to see many of the new faces down here at the Workshops soon and look forward to next years event.
We’re all looking forward to attending this years Street Market in Westbury Gardens this Saturday 1st July. Last year’s event was a great success and it was lovely to meet so many new people. We were slightly surprised to discover the number of native Bradfordians who had never been down to the Tithebarn Workshops… but we did put them straight!
We will be bringing down a selection of the work produced from each of the units at the Workshops, which will be available to purchase and then, of course, you will be able to partake in one of Mel’s famous scones while you browse the stand!
We look forward to seeing everyone this weekend and hope for the same weather as last year.
We’d also just like to say a big thank you to John Cox for his usual organisational skills in putting on what is easily the best event of it’s kind on the Bradford calendar.
Oh… come on… grow up!!
There’s a huge crop of cherries on the trees down at the Tithebarn Workshops, but they’re going fast thanks to the birds in the garden. Slightly sour again this year but great if you like making preserves!
Also running out fast are the cherry necklace sets at SerenArts Gallery (note the not so subtle marketing link!!)…
Why not pop down to the Workshops soon for a chance to see both!
The Bradfordians will be putting on a performance of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet at the Tithe Barn, Bradford on Avon from Wednesday 28th June to Saturday 1st July.
What a perfect setting for this play and we hope to see the crowds down here next week. Maybe pop down a little earlier and have a little browse around the Tithebarn Workshops?
Tickets can be obtained via the Bradfordian’s website.
We would like to wish all those involved all the best…. break a leg!
Our apologies once again for not posting in a while, but we’d like to draw your attention to this years Sculpture Garden event at ‘Lynchetts’, 15 Woolley Street.
Alan Spark, Stained Glass Studio, from the Tithebarn Workshops, is again exhibiting a collection of his work, after many successful years at this excellent show.

Things are in full swing around the town with the influx of Morris Dancers and down here at the Tithebarn Workshops is no exception!
We hope everyone is enjoying the festivities and a big thank you to all the people who didn’t believe the gloomy forecast and came out to visit us!
We know that Felix and Jackie have been keen to thank everyone for coming along to support the launch of Acoustic Guitar Innovation at the Tithebarn Workshops on Sunday. It was a fantastic turn out with over 100 visitors over the evening …
It was a great evening and we would like to add our thanks to all the people who enjoyed the music, wine and ambiance of the event. Felix had produced some truly stunning guitars that were on show and available to purchase, and they will remain so at the Corner Gallery from now. So, if you weren’t able to get to see the collection due to over crowding… please pop down any time!
A big thank you to everyone involved in putting on the launch evening and we look forward to seeing you all again at the Tithebarn Workshops soon.
